Each Speed Duel GX: Duelists of Shadows Box contains a total of 228 cards, all of which can be used in Speed Duel:
3 of the 8 Secret Rare cards in each box are the 3 Holy Beasts: Uria, Lord of the Raging Flames, Hamon, Lord of the Roaring Thunder, and Raviel, Lord of the Phantasms.

This box set is designed so that up to 8 players can have their own dynamic gaming experience with 8 pre-made decks and a selection of other cards that can be used for customization. - Der Supreme King! As a cold-hearted duelist hiding behind a familiar face, the Supreme King decimates his enemies with his “Bad Hero” deck! This deck uses the power of Dark Fusion for fusion summons instead of normal polymerization.
- Camula, the vampire! As the second Shadow Rider to take on the Ghost Key Defenders, Camula defeated both Dr. Crowler and Zane Truesdale with her “Vampire” deck. Vampires suck out your opponent’s HP and the contents of their deck as they resurrect over and over again!
- The Shadow Duelant Titan! Although he would later become the sixth Shadow Rider, Titan tormented Jaden at the behest of Dr. Crowler in his early days at the Duel Academy. The Titans Chess Archworlder Deck is powerful and unpredictable – keep a six-sided die nearby when playing with it!
- Tania, the Amazon warrior! As the third Shadow Rider to attack the Dueling Academy, she quickly took out Bastion with her “Amazon” deck. The “Amazon” strategy focuses on all-round attacks, in which droves of monsters invade the enemy. No monster can forever resist their relentless pursuit.

- Adrian Gecko, an East Academy duelist who plans to harness all the power of Yubel! Its Wolkian deck obscures the field with its fog counters.
- Kagemaru, the true genius behind the Shadow Riders! Challenge the power of the Sacred Beasts and destroy your rivals!

The box contains a total of 20 skill cards: eight main skills for the pre-made decks, an additional skill for each of these decks that allows you to customize it to your liking, and four more skill cards that you can use to create your own decks. If you’ve selected the Speed Duel: Battle City Box and Speed Duel GX: Duel Academy Box, try assembling Zaalog’s Dark Scorpions!
In order to use a card in Speed Duel, the Speed Duel symbol must be displayed on the map. Cards without the symbol are not allowed, but Speed Duel cards can be used in Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. Skill cards can only be used in Speed Duel.
